With the end of the school year looming, the golf team has finally wrapped up their successful season. Earlier this week, the golf team finished their final tournament of the year, the state tournament in Burley. The team finished with a respectable 12th place, but the Cutthroats felt like they could have done better. As junior, John Weeks ‘20 said, “I think we did okay, but I definitely feel like we could have done better. I think we have a good chance of doing better next year, and I am excited to see what is going to happen!” Kyle Cohen ‘22 agreed, “It was a great experience to play with other kids around the state and even though I didn’t play great, I am looking forward to playing again next year.”
The Cutthroats at state all played well, with Andrew O’Connor ‘20 leading the charge with a team high 13th place. John Weeks placed 36th and freshmen Wilson Baker and Kyle Cohen placed 62th and 71st respectively. Overall, the Cutthroats wrapped up a solid year for golf and with the whole team returning, they hope to be even stronger next year. If you pass any of these golfers in the halls, be sure to wish them a big congratulations and be sure to keep them pumped up for next year!
